Following a 200 hour course of study, January 16, 2011, Amadea was in the first RYT class to graduate from Satchidananda Mission, an approved Integral Yoga Teacher Training in Athens, Georgia. The program, lead by long time Integral Yoga teachers Rev. Manjula Spears, Dr. Richard Panico, Swami Ramananda, and the Rev. Lakshmi Sutter, was remarkable in the depth of its commitment to the eight limbs of yoga, as well as its wild weather. The class of twelve YTTs experienced 106 degree weather in June, 2010, and days of freezing snow and ice in January 2011, all in a small yurt. Amadea will be weaving Integral Yoga into her teaching in Ayurvedic Self Care. She is grateful to her teachers and fellow YTTS for this strongly cohesive heart-felt adventure together. |

Asha Hunt, APYTI’s Events Manager in the early years of our short history, died January 22, 2011 in North Carolina after an unexpected illness. She is survived by many loved ones, both family and friends.
Asha was the events manager and registrar, a student, an Ayurvedic Nutrition graduate, co-worker, and inspiration for many APYTI events. She brought her deep skills in energetic healing as well as many years of experience in events management from the College of Santa Fe. Yet most of all Asha and I were friends, and we both knew it. Now that she is gone, I can see that she was also here for these blessed two short hard working years as a profound teacher of mine. She chose her own path, pursued innovative and sustainable ways of healing, and supported her loved ones in countless ways. She was extremely present and loving, with a deep well of stillness inside. She had a remarkable knack for helping people find ease in their core, as well as the light and humor inside. Her courage and intelligence in following her inner compass astounds, inspires, and humbles me.
Her close friends have created a fund to purchase a memorial bench in her honor. We have raised $700 so far. Thank you so much to all who have contributed. The total cost is close to $1,000. If you would like to join in this effort, contributions can be made out to the

APYTI sponsored its First Ayurvedic Cooking Intensive Showcase in October of 2009, with Ayurvedic chefs Michele Schulz, Ivy Amar, and Deva Kaur Khalsa joining Amadea for a full five days of cooking with active participants. We are grateful to Suzanne Barry for hosting us, and Asha Hunt for organizing the event. We are waiting to see when we can gather such a stellar crew again before we schedule our next one. It was wonderful. With much thanks to everyone who participated. |

The Ayurveda Polarity & Yoga Therapy Institute was pleased to welcome the Venerable Traga Rinpoche, Tibetan Buddhist monk and yogi, who spoke eloquently on the Compassion and Bodhicitta of Chenrezig, May 1 and 2, 2009 in Santa Fe. People are gathered here for the opening event, which benefited the children of Chethak Ruchen School in eastern Tibet and the building fund for Rigdzin Dharma Foundation in Albuquerque, New Mexico (www.rigdzin.com). Traga Rinpoche holds lineages from both the Kagyu and Nyingma schools of Tibetan Buddhism; he is the spiritual director of Rigdzin Dharma. |
